SHAWANO COUNTY, Wis. (WLUK) - A search took place this week related to the 2023 disappearance of Tara Sullivan, whose car was found in Shawano County, according to reports from FOX 11 TV in Green Bay.

On April 18, 2023, a cell phone was found on a dead-end road in Ringle, a small town in Marathon County. It belonged to Sullivan, 47, of Weston.

When authorities went to her home to return the phone, Sullivan wasn’t there, but her garage door had been damaged. Officials deemed her absence as suspicious and an attempt-to-locate alert was broadcast to neighboring law enforcement agencies. Later that day, off-duty Wausau police officers were traveling on Highway 29 in Shawano County and saw Sullivan’s unoccupied vehicle parked on the side of the road. Her purse and keys were inside, but Tara was nowhere to be found. She hasn’t been seen since.

A viewer tip and social media posts referencing police activity in the area of Old Highway 29 and State 29 led FOX 11 to contact the Shawano County Sheriff’s Dept.

It confirmed the activity was related to the Sullivan case, but referred questions to the Marathon County Sheriff’s Dept.

That agency confirmed the case is still active, but the lead investigator in the case was not immediately available.

Sullivan is described as approximately 5’ 7” tall, 128 pounds, and has green eyes. Her current hair color and clothing description are unknown. She is said to have ties to the Fox Valley area.

Anyone who knows Sullivan or has had contact with her is asked to call the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office at (715) 261-1200. If you see Sullivan or know of her whereabouts, call 911 so that law enforcement can verify her safety.
