MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Wednesday marks one year since 13-year-old James Yoblonski went missing.

The boy was last seen at his Sauk County home the day before investigators believe he drove the family’s vehicle to Baraboo and left it abandoned by the Bluffs. One year later, the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office and Yoblonski’s father, Bill, said they have no substantial leads.

Bill Yoblonski has not always seen eye to eye with Sauk County Sheriff’s Office investigators, claiming they spent too much time looking in the Baraboo Bluffs when he thinks someone kidnapped his son and made it look like he was still in the woods. Now, Bill said he has a better relationship with detectives who say they’re casting a wider net and still have people trying to find James.

Bill believes his son is still alive and out there somewhere. He had a message to share with his son.

“We miss you so much and it’s so hard not having you around,” Bill Yoblonski said.

Bill Yoblonski and the community will hold a gathering for James on Wednesday from 6-7 p.m. at Badger Ammunition. This is the parking lot on Highway 12 near where the search party’s headquarters were last year. Anyone is welcome and attendees are asked to wear blue clothing, because it is James’ favorite color, or to wear green since it is the color of hope, according to the gathering’s Facebook page.

Bill is offering a $10,000 reward for anyone who provides information that helps deputies locate and bring James home. He also created a GoFundMe to raise more reward money.

Call the Sauk County Sheriff’s office at 608-355-3508 or 911 to provide information about James’ whereabouts.

People can also call Bill at 920-292-0322 or email him at williamyoblonski@yahoo.com.
