Work begins this week on Business 51 reconstruction project in Stevens Point

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAW) - Drivers in Stevens Point will begin seeing closures this week as the Business 51 reconstruction project gets underway.

Preliminary work on the southside project is scheduled to begin this week. Church Street is scheduled to close Wednesday. This work is expected to be completed by the end of the week.

Stage 1 of the project will start June 1. Work from the south city limits to Church Street is expected to take about a month. Stage 1 will require a full roadway closure. No traffic will be permitted in the work zone. Drivers will be required to access properties within this section from the north.
