Tom Tiffany campaigns in Wausau as protesters gather across street
Republican candidate for governor also stops in Wisconsin Rapids and Tomahawk on bus tour, six days before general election
WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - Republican candidate for governor Tom Tiffany made a stop in Wausau on Wednesday as part of his bus tour, six days before the general election.

Protesters lined the street across from the Republican rally.
Tiffany was joined by several fellow Republican candidates, who gave campaign speeches while protesters chanted in the background.
At one point, Tiffany laughed and told protesters to “go home to Illinois.”

Tiffany: ‘Brain drain’ a top concern
After the speeches and shaking hands with supporters, Tiffany spoke with NewsChannel 7. He said he is energized heading into election week and that his plans will make the state more prosperous.
“One of the greatest concerns I have right now is the amount of brain drain that’s going on in Wisconsin,” Tiffany said. “We’re losing our young people and that’s because there’s not incentives to keep them. We need to have moderate taxation, low regulation or reasonable regulation, and then we will be one of the prosperous states in America.”
Other stops
The congressman also stopped in several other cities Wednesday, including Wisconsin Rapids and Tomahawk.
