Stevens Point non-profit selling backyard compost bins

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAW) - Recycling Connections, a non-profit group focused on waste reduction and recycling, will be selling high-quality backyard composters.

Recycling Connections says collecting yard waste and kitchen scraps at home provides an opportunity to build soil for use with plants, vegetables, and flowers indoors and out. By selling the composters, they hope to help people to reduce waste, build soil and increase self-reliance.

You can pre-order your composter at this link: www.recyclingconnections.org/stevens-point-shop

The home composter bins are available for $68. The bin holds six to eight 30-gallon bags of yard materials.

Recycling Connections will also hold a virtual presentation on backyard composting on May 7 at 4 p.m. to help people learn more about composting at home. To register for the webinar, email michelle@recyclingconnections.org or visit www.recyclingconnections.org.
