Heavy rain floods streets across Wausau area

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - Fast heavy rain flooded streets and intersections across the Wausau area.

The Wausau Police Department is reporting flooded portions of roads across the area. They advise people not to drive through standing flood waters.

A Facebook post by the police department said the Department of Public Works is handling loose manhole covers.

However, they advise people to be cautious about any unseated manhole covers, power lines down, tree limbs down, etc.

As a result of the storm, many traffic lights also continue to flash red and/or stop signs are out at intersections where the power is out until they’re restored.
