Man found unresponsive on County Road X in Portage County

TOWN OF HULL, Wis. (WSAW) - The Portage County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after being contacted for an unresponsive man on Saturday.

Just after 1:15 p.m. Saturday, the Portage County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center was contacted about an unresponsive man found on County Road X near the US Highway 10 West overpass.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Following the initial investigation, it is suspected the man took his own life.

The man’s name is not being released at this time. The incident remains under investigation.

The Portage County Sheriff’s Office received assistance from the Wisconsin State Patrol, Stevens Point Police Department, Dewey Fire Department, Hull Fire Department, Portage County Ambulance and Portage County Medical Examiner’s Office.
