Numerous events to be held this weekend in central Wisconsin

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, you won’t have to look far. Numerous events will be held this weekend.

ANTIGO

Wildman Arts presents the 3rd Annual Antigo DIRT Craft and Vendor Show at the Heinzen Pavilion, located at 420 Field Street. The event is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dozen of vendors and crafters will be at the event.

The Sip & Stroll Wine Walk will be held Saturday, April 30 from 3-7 p.m. Tickets are $35. Click here to purchase tickets. Participants must be 21 or older. There are more than 20 Sip Stops on the Walk. Each Sip Stop will have 2 ounces of wine samples available. To start the walk, each ticket holder must check-in at Harper’s Mercantile, 824 5th Avenue, Downtown Antigo, between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on the day of the event to show your ID, pick up your wristband, and wine walk passport listing the participating businesses and map. Participants return their completed stamped wine walk passports to Wild Epitome, 816 5th Avenue, Downtown Antigo, to pick up their commemorative wine tumbler and register for the wine basket drawing.

ARPIN

Hemlock Creek Farms will host Family Day on the Farm on Saturday. The event is from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Families can stop by to see baby goats, chicks and puppies. Boy scout pack 293 will be selling lunch and ice cream. There will also be kids’ games. The event is free to attend with all lunch proceeds going to the Boy Scouts. The farm is located at 7465 Hwy HH.

MARSHFIELD

The War Room Museum & World History will open to the public on Sunday, May 1. It will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A $10 donation is suggested per person. The collection includes items from World War I to modern-day. There are also items from Susie the riveter, the home front, the Holocaust and much more. Owner Tyler Smazal bought the museum from a man in Portage and moved it to Marshfield. The former museum was visited by people from 16 countries. Smazal plan to lead tours to pass on the stories behind the items. The museum is located at 253 S. Central Ave.

MERRILL

A benefit will be held Saturday at Les and Jim’s Lincoln Lanes to support the Hoffmann family. Morgan Hoffman was diagnosed with breast cancer during her pregnancy and delivered her son early resulting in significant medical costs. The benefit is from 3-8 p.m.

RHINELANDER

The YMCA of the Northwoods will host Healthy Kids Day on April 30 from 9 a.m. to noon. The event encourages families to take a moment to help kids be kids and set them up for a summer of success. It will feature activities such as family Zumba® and open swim to motivate and teach families how to develop and maintain healthy routines at home. The Y is located at 2003 E Winnebago St.

ROTHSCHILD

The Spring Eggstravaganza Craft and Vendor Show will be held on April 30 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and May 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cedar Creek Mall. Dozens of vendors and crafters will be on hand.

WAUSAU

The WausaUltra’s Double Down 2022 will be held Saturday at Sylvan Hill Park. The race is two loops of a 4.167 mile trail course. The event can be run solo or as a two-person relay. Loop 1 starts at 9:30 a.m. and runners must finish the first loop before Loop 2 begins at 10:45 a.m. Runners get a score for each loop placement. The overall place is a combination of your 2 loop scores. The lowest score wins.

The Wausau Coin Show will be held Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will be at the Quality Inn located at 2901 Hummingbird Rd in Rib Mountain. Free admission and parking. There will be a special free kid’s activity table where each child will receive a penny folder and be able to fill it with old wheat pennies. The event includes dealers in coins, currency, bullion and all areas of numismatics.

WESTON

The village of Weston Farmer’s Market will kick off its 17th season on Saturday, April 30 at the “Weston Market Place” on the corner of Camp Phillips Road and Schofield Ave., next to Dunkin’ Donuts. The market offers fresh fruits and vegetables, beautiful flower bouquets and a variety of handmade crafts. And if you’re hungry there is Danny’s Gyros, Boriken Mart, Kountry Kitchen Katering, Egg Rolls, Kettle Corn, homemade Bakery, and more. The market is open on Saturdays and Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., or until sold out.

Healthy Kids Day is Saturday, April 30 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Woodson YMCA. There will be kids’ activities, open swim and health and wellness booths and crafts. There are also door prizes. Every participant will receive a free shirt. It’s open to everyone, non-members and YMCA members. The Aspirus branch YMCA is located at 3402 Howland Ave.
