Bond set for Vilas County man arrested in homicide investigation
CLOVERLAND, Wis. (WSAW) — A 56-year-old St. Germain man has been arrested in connection with the death of a 61-year-old woman found dead from unnatural circumstances, according to the Vilas County Sheriff’s Office.
On Monday, James Johnson appeared in Vilas County Court where the judge set a $1 million bond.
Deputies responded to a 911 call at 10:34 p.m. Friday for a woman dead at a home in Cloverland. Upon arrival, authorities identified the victim as Kelly Johnson.
During the early hours of Saturday, investigators identified and arrested Johnson for first-degree intentional homicide.
Detectives from Vilas and Oneida counties, along with the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation, responded to the scene. The Wisconsin Department of Justice’s Mobile Crime Response Team and the Wisconsin State Patrol also assisted.
