The 28-year-old Rhinelander woman accused of trying to hire a hit man to kill her husband has agreed to the terms of plea and will avoid a jury trial.

Megan Danielczak pleaded no contest Tuesday to solicitation to commit first degree intentional homicide.

Police said a person came forward saying they were concerned about Danielczak plans.

"He came forward because he was concerned that if he didn't bring this forward that she would find somebody else that would probably go through with it," said Rhinelander Police Chief Lloyd Gauthier during an interview Feb. 16, 2018.

He said Danielczak then unknowingly met with an undercover agent from the Wisconsin Department of Justice - Division of Criminal Investigations.

Court documents state Danielczak wanted a divorce but did not believe she had the financial means to make ends meet. She meet with the undercover agent and provided him with three rings and $100, with the promise she'd have another $4,500 when she sold her husband's truck.

She also later provided another $302.

Gauthier said her sole motive was financial gain, noting her husband had a life insurance policy.

Detectives met Danielczak at her work and informed her that her husband had died and wanted to know if she knew who would want to kill him. According to court documents, she initially denied having any information, but later admitted she hired someone to kill him.

A sentencing date has been set for May 2.
