Service garage damaged in truck engine fire

No injuries were reported but a Town of Wausau trucking business is damaged after a fire early Friday morning.

Fire crews from several departments were called to Zientara Truck and Trailer off of County Road Z in the Town of Wausau around 12:45 a.m. Friday for reports of a tractor-trailer that it caught fire inside a service garage.

Once on scene, fire crews were able to contain the fire to the service bay.

The fire started in the engine compartment of the truck, according to Town of Wausau Fire Chief Kevin Yolitz.

As of Friday morning, it's still unclear who reported the fire to emergency dispatchers. The couple who lives next door tells NewsChannel 7 they sold the business to their son in July and no one should have been around at the time of the fire.

It is believed the design of the building helped keep the fire from spreading, although smoke could be seen billowing from the attached business.
