UPDATE: Victim Identified in Deadly Stratford Area Accident

The Marathon County Sheriff's Department identified the victim in a deadly two vehicle accident as Michael Rogan, 46, of Stratford.

It happened Friday morning near Stratford, around 4:40 a.m.

Investigators said one vehicle struck a deer, which in turn caused the deer to be thrown into another vehicle, according to the Marathon County Sheriff's Office Facebook page.

The second vehicle sustained heavy damage, and the driver of the second vehicle, Rogan, died of his injuries.

Other occupants of the vehicle sustained minor injuries.

A family friend tells NewsChannel 7, Rogan, his wife and their seven kids were on their way to the hospital for the birth of their 8th child.

Wisconsin Highway 97 northbound and southbound near Balsam Street near Stratford was closed for a period of time.
