A machine shed is a total loss after a fire Sunday night.

Authorities say it happened around 7 p.m. on the 1100 block of Highway Y in Antigo.

Fire crews responding to the scene say the building was fully engulfed upon arrival.

"This was a fairly large building, so being fully involved, it was fully developed when we got here so we were trying to catch up as we arrived on scene," Antigo Rural Fire Control Chief Neal Wozniak said.

A few cars and a boat were inside the building at the time of the fire and were also destroyed, Wozniak said. No one was in the building at the time of the fire, although someone was in the building earlier Sunday. No one was injured.

The machine shed was being rented out to someone who used it for an auto repair business, Wozniak said.

The Town of Antigo Fire Department and Birnamwood Fire Department also responded to the scene.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
