Local butcher shops say that the Easter holiday combined with the Badgers heading to the Final Four is making for a busy weekend. Both Townline Market in Wausau and Country Fresh Meats in Weston say that sales have increased significantly throughout the past days.
Both stores have been busy throughout the week stocking up on popular Easter items.
"Generally we see an increase in our ham sales and our cured products. Also, we see a big spike in our polish sausage and fresh kilbasa and that type of sausage for the local area." Says Country Fresh Meats manager Matthew Bayer.
For now, both Townline and Country Fresh say that they are glad people are choosing local stores during holidays.
