MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WSAW) -- Major League Baseball announced that Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich is a finalist for the National League MVP and Craig Counsell a finalist in the NL Manager of the Year.
Yelich had a career year receiving his first All-Star nomination. The 26-year old batted .326 with 34 home runs and 110 RBI.
Counsell led the Brewers to a 96-67 record, and Milwaukee's first division title and NLCS appearance since 2011.
The winner of the NL Manager of the year will be announced on Nov. 13. The MVP will be revealed on Nov. 15.
Yelich's competition is Javier Baez of the Cubs and Nolan Arenado of the Rockies.
Counsell will be competing against Brian Snitker of the Braves and Bud Black of the Rockies.
