Edgar loses to Black Hawk in state football championship game

MADISON, WIS. (WSAW) Edgar High School lost to Black Hawk High School 22-15 in the Division 7 Wisconsin state football championship game Thursday at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison.

Edgar overcame three first half lost fumbles and 42 penalty yards to lead 15-14 at halftime.

Karson Butt scored on a four yard run and threw a four yard touchdown pass to Brock Handrick in the first quarter. Edgar was unable to score in the second half and ended up losing the game by seven points.

Edgar totalled 164 yards on offense and turned the ball over three times compared to Black Hawk's 288 yards of total offense and zero turnovers.

Edgar entered the game undefeated with a 13-0 record. They finish the season 13-1.
