The Latest: Shooting near Utah mall possibly gang related

MURRAY, Utah (AP) -- Utah police say two people are in the hospital after a shooting Sunday outside a popular mall in a Salt Lake City suburb.

Murray Police officer Kenny Bass says the incident is possibly gang-related and they are searching for three suspects.

Bass says the two people were shot at about 1:30 p.m. just outside the southeast entrance to the Fashion Place mall in Murray, which is about 6.6 miles south of the capital. He says the victims were a man and woman in their early 20s. The man is in critical condition and the woman in serious condition.

The shooting triggered the evacuation and closure of the mall home to stores such as Crate and Barrel, Macy's and Nordstrom.

Bass says no other victims or suspects were found inside the mall.
