WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) Wausau Mayor Robert Mielke led a group of residents on a bike ride through the city Monday morning to promote healthy transportation and Wausau's bike friendliness.

Residents met the mayor at 7:30 a.m. at Marathon Park for a quick breakfast and then pedaled to city hall.

"It's a fun little activity as far as, ok, come to work with the mayor, see what's going on in our city. Wausau in the last year has really become very bike friendly. We've been recognized nationally for that," said Mielke.

May is National Bike to Work month.
