Driver wanted in Bonduel area kangaroo hit-and-run case

TOWN OF WAUKECHON, Wis. (WSAW) -- The Shawano County Sheriff's Department is searching for a woman they said struck a killed a domesticated kangaroo near Bonduel Tuesday night.

The kangaroo named Lulu was a pet and had escaped prior to its death.

Investigators said a 69-year-old man told authorities he and his wife were trying to coax the kangaroo into coming closer to them, when a truck on Porter Road hit the man's foot and shoulder and killed the kangaroo.

It happened around 7:30 p.m. on Porter Road near Valley Road in the Town of Waukechon.

The man said the driver stopped a short distance down the road and got out of the truck saying, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry," and then drove away.

The driver is described as a woman in her mid 20's, about 5 foot 5 inches to 5 foot 7 inches with glasses and shoulder length hair. The truck is described as 'late model', but its color was unclear.
