Police: Woman lied about hostage situation at Rhinelander hotel

RHINELANDER, Wis. (WSAW) -- The Rhinelander Police Department said a 20-year-old was arrested and will face charges for making up a story about being held against her will at a hotel.

According to a news release, police responded after the woman said a man had held a gun to her head in a room at the Rodeway Inn.

Police arrived around 6 p.m. on Tuesday. The Special Response Team later made entry into the room and took the man into custody. The scene was cleared around 9:15 pm.

Police say they are recommending Alyah Wyman, 20 be charged with obstruction, disorderly conduct and cited for underage drinking.

Police said the man will face no charges.
