MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WSAW) -- In honor of fallen Milwaukee police officer Matthew Rittner, the mayor of Milwaukee announced that Milwaukee City Hall would be going blue Thursday night.
Mayor Tom Barrett wrote on Facebook:
"We have lit our City Hall blue tonight in honor of fallen Officer Matthew Rittner and all officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice. We will keep his family and the entire Milwaukee Police Department in our thoughts."
Earlier Thursday afternoon, Governor Tony Evers also signed an executive order, directing all flags in the state to half-staff in the fallen officer's honor.
