EAU CLAIRE, Wis.-- Two executive orders to fight opioid abuse were signed by Governor Scott Walker at a stop in Eau Claire today.

One, creates a commission on substance abuse treatment delivery.

The other, requires the State Department of Health Services to create the governor's faith-based summit on opioids for pastors and priests.

"We need to tell people that message," Governor Walker said. "We need the help from our pharmacist. We need help from our doctors. We need help from her healthcare professionals. We need help as patients, because part of the challenge we've had in the past is as patients, we demand other healthcare professionals more help with pain and so that's where that's gone in the past. We need to help get the support to say 'No, is there an alternative to this first?'"
