WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - The storm track continues to shift on the possible winter storm for this weekend. The latest model data coming in this afternoon shows low pressure taking a path a bit more to the southeast compared to previous model trends. This means that the back edge of the accumulating snow will be farther southeast, with fewer impacts on the region as a whole.
With that in mind, there will still be some accumulations of snow well to the southeast of Wausau later Saturday afternoon into early Sunday morning. The heaviest snowfall in the state is still expected in the lakeshore counties extending from near Green Bay south to Milwaukee. An appreciable snowfall is also anticipated in southern Wisconsin, especially from Madison onto the east.
No less, we will continue the First Alert Weather Day for Saturday night into early Sunday morning for the potential for hazardous travel conditions in the southern and eastern parts of the region. As more data comes in, the forecast is going to be updated.
