CWD found in deer in Marinette Co.

WAUSAU, Wis.-- A white-tailed deer from a breeding farm in Marinette County has tested positive for chronic wasting disease.

CWD is caused by an infectious protein that effects the animal's brain.

The farm has been quarantined, which means no animals can move in or out. The two-year-old doe was born on the farm and died during fawning.

The fenced-in farm, has 320 whitetail deer.

The state did not identify the farm by name.
