Beloved librarian to retire after 44 years

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) -- Friday will mark the end of an era at the Marathon County Public Library.

Sharyn Heili will celebrate retirement after dedicating more than 44 years to library.

She's worked as an adult reference librarian and, for the past several years, as the main children's librarian. She's also been part of the bookmobile.

She says those changes in positions, along with meeting many different people kept the job fresh. Not to mention the constant opportunity to quench people's thirst for knowledge.

Sharyn says she also loves the looks on children's faces when they're really into a story. She says when her family moved to Wausau, they only planned to stay a couple years, but they fell in love with the area.
