Behind the scenes: Flower Shop on Valentine's Day

By  |

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) -- One local flower shop let Sunrise 7 in behind the scenes as they prepared for what they call their 'busiest day of the year.'

"We prepare by having balloons blown up, bags opened for wrapping flowers, candy wrapped, flower arrangements made evenings before delivery, and lots of helpers that do numerous jobs," explained Charmaine with Blossoms & Bows Flower Shop.

Their game plan is to have numerous routes ready the evening before so drivers can load and leave immediately after arriving on Valentine's morning.

This means bagging and boxing so the delivery person can be as efficient as possible and trying to anticipate what the customers would like to give their Valentines.

"The day involved around four to five times more people than a usual day, " Charmaine said.

People can choose from options like Roses, lilies, alstomeria, freesia, spider mums, snap dragons, stock, carnations, matsumoto asters, to name a few.

If you'd like to order flowers last minute, you can order on the Blossoms & Bows 24 hour website, stop by the store and pick up your order, or call 715-845-5208 to order on the phone.
