22-year-old arrested following narcotics bust in Minocqua

MINOCQUA, Wis. (WSAW) --- According to a press release from the Minocqua Police Department, 22-year-old Tawnie Demaray, 22, of Lac Du Flambeau is in custody and charged with possession of meth with intent to deliver, among other counts.

On Jan. 12 at about 8:52 a.m., the Minocqua Police Department responded to a report of suspicious activity at The Point Hotel & Suites. Officers talked to staff members and began to investigate. They believed there was narcotic-related activity going on in one of the hotel rooms.

On Jan. 13 at about 2:05 a.m., officers went into the room and detained several people.

As a result of their investigation, Demaray was arrested and charged with possession of meth with intent to deliver, possession of heroin, possession of THC, possession of drug paraphernalia, felony bail jumping, felony warrant out of Vilas County, misdemeanor warrant out of Oneida County, and a misdemeanor warrant from the Department of Corrections.

The Woodruff Police Department, the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, Vilas County Sheriff's Office, Lac Du Flambeau Tribal Police Department and the Oneida County EMS all assisted the Minocqua Police Department.

No other details are being released at this time.
