$13,500 worth of drugs found by jailers during booking

CRANDON, Wis. (WSAW) -- The Forest County Sheriff's Department reports a traffic violation has lead to the discovery of $13,500 worth of drugs.

According to a news release, around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday a vehicle was stopped in Crandon. Investigators state the passenger, Keotis Hamilton, 32, had a warrant and was also attempting to hide a bag with a pill in his mouth. The pill was believed to be oxycodone, however when detectives attempted to retrieve it, they said Hamilton swallowed it.

Detectives also arrested the vehicle's driver, Martell Green, 24, and another passenger, Devon Bell, 28 for possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to a news release, both had drugs hidden in their bodies. Officers said they found 10.6 grams of heroin and 40.7 grams of crack cocaine.

All three remain the Forest County Jail.
