Ethan Bublitz (Jackson, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) led four Pointers in double figures as the No. 20 UW-Stevens Point men's basketball team (12-5, 4-3) won at UW-Stout (6-12, 0-7) to end the first half of league play, 72-61.

Bublitz led all players with 22 points on 4-for-4 free-throw shooting and 2-of-3 shooting from beyond the arc.

Nate Dodge (East Troy, Wis./East Troy) added 15 points with two-made three-pointers. Brett Tauber (Madison, Wis./Memorial) and Drew Fredrickson (Mount Horeb, Wis./Mount Horeb) contributed 13 and 12 points, respectively, and each had five rebounds. Canon O'Heron (Bangor, Wis./Bangor) grabbed a game-high nine boards.

Tauber scored on each of the first two possession to begin the game. Dodge nailed his first three just over three minute in to give UWSP a 7-6 edge. A six-minute scoring drought by the Pointers saw Stout pull ahead 11-9 before a Tauber and-one gave the lead back to UWSP at the midpoint of the first half.

Fredrickson and Bublitz combined for the next 11 UWSP points for a 23-18 lead. Dodge nailed another triple and the Pointers took a 31-24 lead into halftime.

The Pointers opened the second half with seven of the first nine points, including a Fredrickson three, to take a 38-26 lead, the largest of the game. Blake Ehrke (Deerfield, Wis./Deerfield) and Matt Koerner (West Bend, Wis./West) added a three-pointer each, but the lead was just six midway through the second half.

Bublitz scored nine of the next 11 UWSP points to push the lead back to double figures at 64-53. The Pointers hit all eight free throws in the final minute of play to complete the road win.

The Pointers return home to begin the second half of conference play on Saturday against UW-Eau Claire. Tip-off at Quandt Fieldhouse is slated for 7:00 p.m.
