The No. 1 ranked UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team (12-0-2) completed the weekend sweep on the road, defeating Lake Forest (5-4-3), 4-2, on Saturday.

For the second night in a row, junior Brennen Miller (Keller, Texas) got the scoring started. He scored just 16 seconds into the game. Miller took a pass from junior Austin Kelly (Toledo, Ohio) and buried it in the back of the net.

Miller recorded his second goal of the night, again teaming up with Kelly at the 7:05 mark of the first period. Senior B.J. Duffin (Red Deer, Alta.) also added an assist.

Lake Forest pulled within one, scoring a power-play goal at 15:05 in the first period.

Sophomore Carter Roo (Champlin, Minn.) increased the Pointers' lead back to two, tallying a power-play goal. Picking up assists were senior TJ Roo (Champlin, Minn.) and junior Drew McLean (Waterford, Mich.).

Following a scoreless second period, Zach Zech (South Lyon, Mich.) sniped a power-play goal at 17:16 in the third period to make the score 4-1 and put the game out of reach for the Foresters.

Lake Forest added a goal with 39 seconds left to play, but the deficit was too much to overcome for the Foresters.

Sophomore Connor Ryckman (Minesing, Ont.) improved to 12-0-1 on the season, finishing the game with 18 saves. Lake Forest goaltender, Louis-Philippe De Courcy (4-4-2) made 31 saves.

The Pointers return home on Tuesday (Dec. 11) against Lawrence for the final home game in 2018. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Tuesday is Teddy Bear Toss and Skate with the Pointers night at K.B. Willett Arena.
