The Colby girls basketball team used a huge second half to beat Crandon 67-50 in their Division Four sectional final. The Hornets are advancing to the state tournament for the first time in program history with the win.

"It's a great feeling you know,” said Colby junior forward Hailey Voelker. We did it for our team, we did it for the community of Colby, we did it for everyone in the past that wore the jerseys before us and it's a great feeling to accomplish it for them."

Up by single digits at halftime, the #1 seed Hornets used hot three-point shooting and stingy defense to pull away from the #2 seed Cardinals in the second half.

"There's five girls out there that can score, and it can be anybody,” said head coach Randy Rau. “To stop five of us, that's tough. To stop two or three, yeah you can accomplish that. But we've got five girls out there that can score and all of them did tonight."

Colby's first game in Green Bay will be Thursday.
