Badgers fall in NCAA Opener to Oregon

SAN JOSE, Calif. (WSAW)-- The 5th-seeded Badgers lost their opening round NCAA Tournament game to 12-seed Oregon 72-54.

UW managed to shoot just 33.3-percent (20-60) for the game, including just 6-30 from three-point range. Oregon shot nearly 55-percent (28-51).

Khalil Iverson and Ethan Happ paced the Badgers with 12 points each. The Ducks had three players in double-figures, led by Payton Pritchard's 19 points.

Oregon entered the game on an 8-game winning streak, the last four in the Pac-12 Tournament to win the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tourney.

The game was tied at 25 at the half. The Badgers took a 31-28 lead on a Nate Reuvers three-poiinter with 17:58 remaining for their last lead of the game. The Ducks went on a 7-0 run immediately after and never trailed again.

The Badgers finish their season at 23-11.
