MADISON, Wis. -- The UW-Stevens Point women's basketball team had two players earn All-WIAC honors, the league announced today (Feb. 27). Freshman Amber Baehman (Plainfield, Wis. /Tri-County) and sophomore Bailee Collins (Milton, Wis./Milton) were selected to the All-WIAC honorable mention team. Senior Olivia Pawlak (Lindenhurst, Ill./Lakes Community) was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.
Baehman had an outstanding freshman campaign at UWSP. She led the Pointers in scoring at 13.2 points per game and rebounding with 180, the fourth-most in the conference. On the season, she had seven double-doubles and narrowly missed two others. She went 51-for-56 from the free throw line for a league-best .911 percentage. On Jan. 29, Baehman was named WIAC Athlete of the Week after back-to-back double-doubles against league foes. She also topped the Pointers with 29 steals.
Collins had a breakout season as well for the Pointers. She averaged 10.1 points per game, third-best on the team. Her inside presence led to a team-high 124 free throw attempts and she made a team-high 81. Collins had a career-high 30 points and recorded her first double-double with 11 rebounds in a home win over UW-River Falls on Jan. 5. Her team-best .511 field-goal percentage was second-best in the league.
Pawlak completed her career with 15 appearance and four starts in her senior season. She totaled 69 rebounds, 11 assists, seven blocks and seven steals in her career.
The Pointers as a team shot .711 from the free-throw line, just .006 behind the league leaders. UWSP's 12.46 assists per game was third in the conference.
