Daniel H. Walder, 82 of the town of Franzen, died on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at his home under the care of his family and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
He was born on April 21, 1937 in Milwaukee, the son of the late Henry and Phyllis (Saltz) Walder.
Dan was a United States Navy veteran serving from 1956 to 1958.
On May 14, 1960, Dan was united in marriage to Charlotte Wiesner at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Milwaukee. She survives.
The couple own a farm in the town of Franzen where they raise registered Angus. Dan was a member of the American Angus Association. Dan loved his farm and the time spent with his family at the lake. He was a private pilot and enjoyed flying his “Beachcraft Bonanza”. Dan was a man of faith and was a great example of a family man. He often said, “My life is a fairytale”.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte and children, Tony (Carina) Walder and children, Erik (Liz), Christine and Alexander; Mark (Lisa) Walder and children, Heinrich and Emily (Dustin) Bonack; Claire (John) Mueller and children, Sam and Adam; Nick (Kim) Walder and children, Brennan, Michael, Scott (Samantha) and Nicholas; Pat (Bonnie Whitehouse) Walder and Edward (Sarah) Walder and children, Lilliann, Brooke, Charles and Joseph; two great-grandchildren, Henry and Scarlett and a brother, Fred (Marcia) Walder.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent. Fr. Augustine Bentil will officiate. Burial will be in the Parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9AM until the time of Mass at the church.
