MERRILL, Wis. (WSAW) -- Annual Christmas cards sold as a fundraiser for the Merrill Area Chamber of Commerce are a hit for another year, thanks to the artistic ability of a Merrill High School graduate.
Ted Nicholson started designing the cards six years ago, which started as a contest for high school kids.
After winning the contest two years in a row, Nicholson was selected as the official designer of the cards.
"We selected an artist to do it, and we absolutely fell in love with him, and he has done our Christmas cards for the past six years now," said Debbe Kinsey, the Executive Director for the Merrill Area Chamber of Commerce.
Much of the artwork depicts the history of Your Town Merrill.
This year's picture is of the Trinity church bells.
Besides cards, the art is printed in various sizes and available for people to buy. All of the proceeds go to the chamber.
