Workers at a shipping business in Sturgeon Bay are heroes after they stopped an elderly woman from falling victim to a scam.
Julie Henry, the owner of Pack and Ship Plus says an elderly woman dropped off a package. But she says it felt a little odd. So, she followed her intuition.
"After she left I just had a suspicious feeling. So I opened it up and surely there was an envelope full of cash," says Julie.
$8000 in cash was inside.
The money was returned to the woman and the scam prevented.
Sturgeon Bay police say the scammers pretended to be a part of tech support company "Geek Squad" telling the woman she had a virus on her computer and needed to pay the money to clean it up.
