Wisconsin does not qualify for a FEMA disaster declaration

Wis. (WISC) -- The state of Wisconsin does not have enough damage from recent flooding to warrant filing for a Federal Emergency Management Agency disaster declaration.

Columbia County officials say the state did not meet the damage threshold. While the water is receding, many rivers across the state are still at high levels.

Many people had to leave their homes because of the floodwaters.
