STEVENS POINT, Wis (WSAW) -- On Friday morning, nearly a dozen volunteers arrived at the Wisconsin Nicaragua Partner's Warehouse to help load their second 52-foot semi-truck full of donated office and school supplies.
Throughout the year, Wisconsin residents donated resources that can be shared with the people in Nicaragua to support a variety of projects.
Everything from bookshelves, chairs, desk, tables and even bicycles were donated. The objective is to improve the quality of life for those living throughout Nicaragua.
“This is an amazing experience,” added Mirna Angulo, who is a native from Nicaragua. “It's been a joy to be able to serve people in communities where they don't have access to these kinds of supplies that we are shipping down to Nicaragua.”
Shipments to Nicaragua happen two times during the year. This is the 53rd year.
