RHINELANDER, Wis. (WSAW) A wildlife rehabilitation center in Rhinelander, Wild Instincts, is one of the only centers in the state willing to accept bears and other hard to handle animals.

As of press date, Wild Instincts is caring for 45 animals but that is soon to change. The Director of Rehabilitation Mark Naniot told NewsChannel 7, when the weather gets warmer, they always receive an influx of animals.

Animals at Wild Instincts are almost always turned over because they are injured or too young to live on their own.

"Many times humans were the ones who caused these things so we feel like it's our job to fix them as well" Naniot said.

If you want to help the animals you can make a donation directly to the wildlife center or purchase something from their wish list. Wild Instinct acquired three bear cubs when two Ashland County deputies rescued two of the cubs from a flooded den. Another bear cub was turned over after it was found wandering alone in the snow in someone's yard.

The three cubs require pounds of food per day and have many more milestones to reach before they can be released sometime in the fall.
