Wausau women's choir performs ahead of spring recital
For over 50 years a women’s choir in Wausau has been gracing audiences with their vocal artistry and dedication to performance.
To talk about their upcoming spring show, members of the Pro Musica as well as Artistic Director Dr. Judy Durocher-Sidlowski and Board President Dixie Hettinga joined the Sunrise 7 team.
The year was 1961. Director Sterling Anderson created the women's choir, Pro Musica as an outgrowth of the singing community at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Wausau. Known for excellence in programming and entertaining audiences, Pro Musica has performed a major concert in the winter and the spring, as well as numerous outreach performances in the surrounding community.
On Friday May 11, Pro Musica will hold their spring concert at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wausau.
The women’s choir will perform in collaboration with Merrill High School Choir for their “Home Grown” show.
The show is will start at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $5 for students.
