Wausau Noon Optimists celebrate 45 years of free youth fishing

WAUSAU, Wis (WSAW) -- For another year, the Wausau Noon Optimists will host their 54th Annual Youth Ice Fisheree.

To tell us how your young anglers can get involved Carl Johnson, a volunteer with the Noon Optimist joined sunrise 7 Sunday.

Starting at noon February 10, at Rib Mountain's Rookery Park, families are invited for a day of free youth ice fishing.

All fishing supplies are provided at no cost, holes are pre-drilled. No registration required but it is 'first come first serve' on equipment.

Hotdogs, Pepsi products and hot chocolate are provided on site for only $0.25 each.

The largest fish caught is mounted by Dave's Wildlife Taxidermy, at no cost, additional door prizes are awarded for the largest fish in each class.

Wausau Noon Optimist Club is started IN 1964. They support more than 5, 000 youth in the Greater Wausau Area to foster an optimistic way of life, through a network of optimists, dedicated to the full development of their potential in order to provide ever-expanding service to youth, the community and the world.
