The holidays have come to Wausau and they've come in style with the annual Wausau Holiday Parade.

Hundreds of people lined the parade route through downtown Wausau. From Stewart Avenue to the 400 Block, everyone was filled with Christmas cheer. Including David Woods who was enjoying his second year in the parade.

"It's just a blast. It's just a great community effort, everyone coming together. It's a lot of fun...Each year the parade gets bigger and bigger," Woods told NewsChannel 7.

Like always, NewsChannel 7 participated in this years parade, officially kicking off our "Share Your Holidays" campaign. Our fabulous staff along with volunteers from Wausau Peterbilt pushed grocery carts along the route, collecting non-perishable food items and monetary donations for The Neighbors Place and The Salvation Army.

As for Woods, his favorite part of the parade remains the same year after year.

"Looking at all the floats and checking everybody's out. It's almost a competition," Woods said.

Santa, of course, also made his way into town with the parade. After the parade was over he helped Mayor Tipple light the Wausau Christmas tree and shared hot cocoa with the kids.
