Wausau Beer Choir lifts singers ‘spirits’
The Wausau Ale Assemblage, called “beer choir” by participants is a local choir group that never has performances, just rehearsals where people can get together, enjoy a beer and sing songs together.
The group has chapter across the nation and was founded by a man in St. Louis who was looking for people to sing with according to Julie Burgess, a member of the Wausau Ale Assemblage.
"They offered beer choir and they sang drinking songs and party songs and just songs people enjoy singing together,” Burgess said.
Anyone is allowed to join beer choir, and drinking is optional.
The Wausau group meets about once every other month.
