STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAW) -- The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is looking to add hundreds of students in some of its most high-demand programs. It's also looking to pilot a 3-year degree.

The campus is looking to expand the capacity of several high-demand academic programs like computer science and chemical engineering.

They're trying to double the number of students in some of these programs, and increase the students in data analytics by five-fold.

UWSP is also looking into developing its first degree in aquaponics & aquaculture.

The initiatives are part of the UW System's 2019-2021 budget request.
