ANIWA, Wis. (WSAW) -- For over 25 years the Iola Military Show gathered military enthusiasts from all around to take a look back at history, but now the show is renamed and relocated to offer a better experience to those who attend.
"It all started as the Iola Military Show for people who wanted to look at different military vehicles," explained Motorama President Tom Zatoukal.
This year, the show is renamed the 'Central Wisconsin Military Show,' and has been relocated to Aniwa at the Motorama Auto Museum right outside of Wausau.
"Those who attend can expect to see a lot of activities, like the military vehicle show, a swap-meet. reenactor encampments, music, displays, memorabilia, raffles, and of course, a pin-up girl contest," Zatloukal said.
Military vehicles will range from 80 to 100 on the new event grounds for all to see. Zatloukal said that it's important to hold an event like this, because people often forget about history, and how the service to our country should always be honored.
Gates open on Saturday Aug. 12 at 8 a.m. on the Motorama Event Grounds located 18 miles east of Wausau on Hwy 52 in Aniwa.
Admission to the show is just $8 for adults, while those 12 and under are free to attend.
The evening will end with a party and live music.
