MARATHON COUNTY, Wis. (WSAW)-- The Wausau Region Chamber of Commerce, Northcentral Technical College and Church Mutual Insurance Company teamed up to start a new program called, The Branch.

It's an opportunity for high potential students to get first hand experience in the job market.

The goals is to focus on collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking.

Aaron Kappellusch with the Wausau Region Chamber of Commerce says, "At the end of the day, companies want these people to be part of their company. So, it's another step up for them, kind of like internships, externships, it's in essense a chance for them to try out for a company."

Church Mutual Insurance is backing the program with $250,000 in start up funds.

The first project involving students hasn't been designated yet, but will take place sometime over the summer.
