Thank You for Sharing Your Holidays!
Every year when we get started, I always have that fear down deep inside. Is this the year people won't or can't help Share Your Holidays? And every year I should know better.
As always, we kicked things off at the Wausau Holiday Parade. We've always gotten a nice truck load of food at this event, but this year, you really got us started on the right foot with two truckloads.
JX Truck Center might be working with a new name, but it's the same generosity from that company. Along with their annual donation and letting us use a truck as a billboard, this year they did more than ever by helping us deliver the carts that acted as food drop-off boxes.
Speaking of more than ever, The Dudley Foundation boosted it's donation from $10,000 to $15,000. And our flagship sponsor River Valley Bank, who's been with us from the start also went from $5000 to $7500
At the annual celebrity gas pump, you donated more money than ever, topping $1000.
County Market came on board this year as a sponsor. They let us put a collection cart in their Crossroads Store. They also let the NewsChannel 7 staff members bag croceries in return for donations. That new event was a lot of fun and also gave us $700 and a bunch of food we had never gotten before.
It was Thursday night, December 22 we brought this year's SYH to a close with our traditional ceremonial check presentation to the Salvation Army and Neighbor's Place.
And once again, you brought tears to our eyes with your generosity, helping us top more than $36,000.
To all the NewsChannel 7 folks who come in on their own time to help out at our events, thank you! To our sponsors, thank you!
But most importantly, to all of you who have made a donation, whether it's five cents or thousands of dollars.
Thank you for Sharing Your Holidays!
