Stevens Point ice cream store helps to raise money for Salvation Army

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAW)-- Stevens Point ice cream store Carl D's used Christmas Day to help the Salvation Army make one last holiday donation push.

"It's free but you make a donation to a cause, and this year it's the Salvation Army," said Stevens Point Resident Betty Reko.

All of Tuesday’s proceeds from community members like Reko buying ice cream benefited the Salvation Army.

Carl D's employees, who volunteer to work the Christmas shift, feel blessed to see community members make donations.

"They make me feel good because they give so much to other people and knowing that I can help in that way makes me feel better," Carl D worker Michael Lackey said. "On a scale from 1-10 it’s probably a 30, cause everyone is so happy. It makes my mood better. I love Christmas and I love making people happy so it's perfect."
