We're doing better than ever for food for Share Your Holidays this year.

You helped get the non-parishable collection into high gear as you handed us an SUV full of food while we walked in the wausau holiday parade.

And you kept it going with more generosity during the annual gas pump for Share Your Holidays a week later.

Andy and Peggy Olson of Andy's Towing made our makeshift pantry burst at the seems with their annual donation of food. It's actually overflowing into the hallway. And the food from the other drop off sights hasn't even been added yet.

That's the good news.

The not-so good news is that money donations are down quite a bit this year. After raising more than $21,000 in two weeks in 2009, we're at about $3,100 dollars after two and a half weeks this year.

We would love to get back over that $20,000 level again, because all donations are matched to $20,000. That effectively doubles your donation.

If you cannot give in this tough economy, or have made donations elsewhere, we understand. But if you could spare just a little to help us out. We and the people for whom it could mean the difference between a hot meal and going hungry would sure appreciate it.

Share Your Holidays comes to an end on friday.
