Share Your Holidays Underway for 2014
Share Your Holidays is off and running for it's 11th year.
Started in 2003, the annual food drive and fundraiser has raised more than $300,000, collecting a record $56,000 in it's 10th anniversary in 2013.
"We would like nothing more than to say there is no more need for this event. But unfortunately, there still is. So, we want to do all we can to help out," says SYH Chair Jeff Thelen.
This year, the drive runs from December 3 to 17.
You can make donations at NewsChannel 7 in Wausau or at the River Valley Bank.
NewsChannel 7 staff members will again be collecting food and money as they walk along the Wausau Holiday Parade on December 5.
The Celebrity Gas Pump for Share Your Holidays is also back. That's scheduled for 6-9am at the Wagner Shell on Schofield Avenue in Weston and from 4-7pm at the Wagner Shell in Wausau. A member of the NewsChannel 7 staff will pump your gas in return for a food or money donation.
Matching grants from flagship sponsor River Valley Bank, The Dudley Foundation and Miller-Halversen family means every dollar donated becomes two.
All of it goes to the Salvation Army and Neighbor's Place food pantries in Wausau.
